Tunable Λ-type electromagnetically induced transparency in superconducting qubit pair

Parametric modulation of individual superconducting qubit can induce dipole forbidden transition among specific levels in a superconducting qubit pair. It is applicable to create a system with Λ-type level structure by two coupled transmon qubits. The excited state is made of superradiant state and the metastable state is the subradiant state. The coherence of the metastable state could only be limited by the pure dephasing mechanism. We numerically demonstrate its application on electromagnetically induced transparency. The results imply that our proposed system is an effective Λ-type artificial atom with large frequency tunability.
