Smartphone APP in Daily Physics Learning is a course of General Education set up at National Taiwan Normal University, and it focuses on the Smartphone’s APPs applying to learn the daily-life physics to fulfill the requirements of General Education. The course curriculum is designed to be a group-learning teaching method, and the course content includes the motion, light, resonance sound, and magnetism measurements; these measurements are more like practices and strongly dependent on the acceleration, Gyroscope, GPS, light, and Hall sensors of smartphones. At the end of each semester, each group of students will present their final projects. Each measurement contains a few topics that can be alternative taught at different semester. Also, we strongly emphasize the data analysis by using the SciDAVis open software. We hope to provide non-physics students with the opportunity to discover the usefulness of smartphones in daily-life physics and hope to engage more in science activities for the rest of their life, in turn, to gain science literacy and become a truly global citizen.
